Starting a Small AI Project 1/4
In today’s world, artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming many fields. As a researcher in data science and AI, I decided to start a small AI project and look for a problem that hasn’t been solved by AI or at least doesn’t have a full model for it yet.
My initial ideas spanned various fields like healthcare and psychology. However, I realized that all these ideas required a high level of advanced technical understanding that specialists in these fields, such as doctors and psychologists, possess. Since I wanted to keep this project as minimal and straightforward as possible, I decided to rule out healthcare solutions.
Initially, let’s discuss some of my early ideas. One of my concepts was to develop an AI model that could assist doctors in diagnosing diseases. This model would need to identify potential illnesses based on the patient’s symptoms and test results and provide recommendations to the doctor. However, as mentioned, implementing such a model requires deep medical knowledge, which is beyond my expertise.
Another idea was in the field of psychology. I envisioned a model that could analyze users’ writings and conversations to assess their mental state and help psychologists diagnose mental health issues. But again, this idea required deep knowledge in psychology and complex analyses, making its execution challenging for me.
After ruling out these ideas, I sought a simpler and more practical solution. My next idea was to develop a sound recognition model using humming. This model would identify the song a user was humming. However, after a quick internet search, I found that Google had already developed a highly advanced model for this task, making another model unnecessary.
This experience showed me that many of my initial ideas were either too complex and required specialized knowledge or had already been fully implemented by others. Therefore, I decided to address new challenges I encountered in the web development world.
